Difficult Poems by Maddy

On this blog
We write poems (duh!)
But did anyone mention how hard it is?

Haikus.
Sonnets.
Rhyming poems.
Shape poems.
Limericks.
Similes.
Metaphors.
Vivid language.
AAAAHHH!!!

A blank piece of paper glares at you
Daring you to write something
Anything!

A poem can be anything
Or nothing at all.
A poem can be about anything
Or nothing at all.
Here I am, writing a poem about writing a poem!
Poems are dragons breathing fiery words
And we are the pencil-wielding knights
Desperately trying to fend off the dragon that is a poem.

  4. I guess it's good. But it's a bit confusing. Lots of topics. And where out of the blue did u make up fire breathing dragon analogy? If you want the flaming words, u have to write them first.

  6. Well then. All you really have to do to make a poem deep is to confuse someone. They don't get it so to show there poem expertise :) , they say, " Wow that was deep!' When it was just a confusing line you're not smart enough to get. Saying that a poem can be anything or nothing at all isn't deep, it's just plain dumb. No offense. And the true meaning of the poem is in the title: Difficult Poems. It's about how you are complaining about all the poems you write. But then you get into the fiery dragon business, and I loose you.
